Cultivating Resilience

While we want to be with our children at every step of the way and help them figure some of life’s biggest moments or challenges together, the truth is – we can’t. But the good news is, we can still help guide them by imparting life skills that will see them through.

Our children can handle challenges and difficulties in their lives, if we are brave enough to let go and allow them to experience it for themselves. Psychologists speak of inculcating resilience in our children, which refers to the ability for them to bounce back from stress and failure. However, resilience is not an innate ability that children are born with. However, the best part is, our children can learn to develop resilience and we play an important role in nurturing this skillset.

While there are many articles that talk about activities that our children can do to nurture resilience, let’s examine deeper and turn the conversation around and focus on how we can start.

Download the activity sheet below to start a conversation on developing resilience.
